This year’s Diocesan week Celebration shall run from the 11th-18th of October 2020 under the theme: LIVING THE FAITH IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.

It is expected that this Celebration shall bring together all the priests, religious and lay faithful of the Diocese of Kumbo.

The Pastoral week Celebration normally begins with individual Christians who make up the church and then go to the level of families which is the church at home or the domestic church; here parents and children or a household evaluate their Christian Life. Next it moves to the Small Christian Community level and then to Mission station and parish. When the parishes must have been through then the Deanery which is a particular circumscription of nearby parishes to ease pastoral work and diversity also Celebrate.

When all the above must have Celebrated with their Parish Priests/Deans and Pastoral Councils, then all unite together with the Bishop to celebrate the Diocesan Pastoral life.

The Diocesan Pastoral Week Celebration offers the Bishop and Priests and people of God the opportunity to come together as a one church and family to evaluate how deep the faith has taken root in the Diocese and how much the faith of the church has grown or not. Thus, the Pastoral week shall give the Bishop and Priests the opportunity to meet with those of other parishes and those of various Commissions which come to the aid of any activity of the Pastoral life in the Diocese.

This year, as the world lives and battles the coronavirus pandemic, Bishop George has slatted them for this year’s celebration to be: LIVING THE FAITH IN THE CONTEXT OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
